You make me so proud that I am a Croatian and know a Croatian like you -- a man who represents and has demonstrated the true and meaningful qualities of leadership.
Your past and continuing work as a leader of a growing company is a true testimony to the kind of commitment that drives success. Throughout all of our conversations
and the speeches I have heard you make, you truly have the people of Croatia at heart. You have demonstrated, through your efforts, that if a “Guy from Croatia” can
make it, so can all of Croatia. Croatia needs you to guide the way to better education, economic and social development. Your experience, integrity and love for the
people of Croatia will make a difference in their lives when you are elected President.
Bill and I wish you the greatest success in being elect President of Croatia.
Former Lt. Gov. of MN, USA

I wish you much sucess and hope you will have an impact not only on the presidential election in Croatia but that in winning you will show and give Croatia an energetic, smart and forward looking leader.

I read with interest the recent newspaper article regarding your candidacy for the
Croatian Presidency. I wish you much success in your campaign. I would very much enjoy
hearing about your campaign over lunch when you have some time. Croatia's gain will be
Minnesota's loss. I will be happy to put one of your lawn signs in my yard.

It was indeed a pleasure and an honor to have met you during the Rutgers
Conference this week on Corrosion Inhibitors. I also want to thank you for giving me an
autographed copy of your most fascinating autobiography "American Dream - A Guy from
I read the book with fascination. In fact I had to read it in one sitting because
of the mesmerizing details of how you started from scratch when you came to the US, what
you went through and how you managed with your dedication and enthusiasm to build a
most successful enterprise. It is also so admirable that you have been so supportive of your
native country, Croatia. I salute you for all that you have accomplished.
I also learned quite a bit during the Conference about the corrosion inhibitors,
particularly your MCI 2000 series. In fact, in my revision of the third edition of my
Reinforced Concrete book, I called yesterday my publishers, Prentice Hall, to tell them that 1
will be sending them a section on this subject to insert in the forthcoming fourth edition
which they are working on.
We at Rutgers are appreciative of your co-sponsoring the conference and
helping in the financing involved. I have no doubt that the large audience from the
engineering profession and the state and federal agencies that attended the whole one-day
Meeting have immensely benefited from the extensive knowledge presented and how better
and more durable concrete can be constructed using MCI inhibitors.
I hope we will cross paths again and my best regards,
Edward G. Nawy

Dear Mr. Miksic:
I just finished reading your book “ American Dream: a guy from Croatia” And all I can say is “Cestitam”. I only wish I had met you before, last Sunday at the Croatian Land in Boonton, NJ. I know we would have worked together in the bussiness, political and personal world .
You see I am a distant cousin of Joe Rukavina and I am native of Konjsko Brdo, Perusic, Lika, Croatia. Came here May 16, 1938 with mum. My dad was here already and have been active in the fight for a free Croatia all my life. My mom didn’t know how to write or read. She instilled in me my Croatian heritage with such words “ za krst casni i slobodu zlatnu”. I am so thrilled and happy that you have achieved the American dream. Your success in your industry is yours and I feel like its also mine. I am thrilled as if it was “ Steve G Basic” who did what you have achieved. Congratulations I nek te dragi Bog pazi i cuva.
In closing, my congratulations on your success and for being a true Croatian son. By the way, I speak and write Croatian fluently, thanking my mother and father.

Dear Mr Miksic,
I am writing to let you know how moved I was after reading your book
"American Dream: a guy from Croatia". It really exemplified the risks
sometimes needed to create a successful business. I think it is a definite must
read for all business people. You stated several great examples on how to keep
a successful business going in today's corporate America.
I was fortunate enough to shake your hand at your plant in Eau Claire at the end
of April. We were there to meet with Christophe and Mike. You were on your
way out the door with several of your sales people. At that time Christophe gave
both my salesman Lance and myself a copy of your book. I just think it was
great of you to be able to sit down and share your wonderful experiences with
the world. I am going to pass your book around the office for others to read.
I also would like to take this time to thank you for the business that Cortec has
given to Larsen Converting Industries. We truly appreciate our relationship and
look forward to growing it in the future.

I would like to thank Mr. Boris Miksic for his letter to TPD on behalf of Croatian Consulate in Minnesota. He is definitely a right candidate in Croatia to be the next President. This is right time and Boris Miksic is right person. Trust me...

Dear Mr. Miksic,
I just wanted to give you a few words of encouragement in regards to the elections that took place in Croatia few months ago.
Please don’t give up because our home country needs individuals like you. We need people who are business men and not politicians with just one agenda
on their minds.
I share your belief that Croatia has an enormous potential to become a new Switzerland but can not realize its potential with the current politicians running the country.
I am planning to return to Croatia after 20 years of living in the US. Therefore I offer you my services for the next elections in Croatia.
